| Il Borgo is a private community that has no equal in Tuscany, with a limited number of only 29 residences offering every modern amenity making for gracious and comfortable living. All have private balconies or terraces, fireplaces and contemporary conveniences like satellite television, fully equipped kitchens and internet connections.
The community recalls the atmosphere of the old farmsteads so typical of Tuscany's countryside by using local materials. For the walls, the pilloli was used, a large river pebble, which has been used to build walls for centuries. Of course, the cotto ~ the Tuscan red bricks ~ were a must, as was the pietra serena, a soft grey marble. The locally produced tiles ~ the mattonelle ~ were also an intricate part of the design.
A variety of units are available at Il Borgo, no two alike. They are located in five buildings ~ La Torreta, Il Casale, La Cantina, Il Fienile, La Tinaia and Il Frantoio ~ all surrounding a beautiful courtyard area with an ancient, beautiful fountain in the middle. |
